How To Create A Beautiful Candy Buffet

Posted by

Building a candy buffet table is a fun part of party planning. A candy buffet has become the hottest trend in most parties from small parties and baby showers to large weddings. Be ultra creative by decorating your candy table, choosing specific styles of containers, filling them with candies that match to your event's theme.

A good starting point is to pick a colour or theme and set a price that you want to pay for a set of favours for each guest..

How much should I buy

If you are providing a candy buffet that allows guests to take some candy home with them in the form of a party bag, our general rule of thumb is to account for approximately eight ounces of candy per guest. That is roughly the equivalent weight of four full-size candy bars. This means if you have 100 guests, then you will need approximately 800 ounces or 50 pounds of candy.

What Type of Candy Shall I Buy

To create a visually appealing candy buffet, we suggest you present eight to ten different types of candy. Since each guest will have their unique candy preferences, offering a variety of choices is important. Include a few chocolates selections, mints crystals and lollies and the like.

What type of type of Jars & Bottles shall I use

Anything can be used as a candy holder: glass jars, colorful bowls, metal trays, baskets. we have a fabulous range of bottles & jars on our Incy Wincy Party Pieces website

Don’t forget the scoops & tongs you will need to make it easy for guests to sample from your buffet!

How Shall I Display My Candy

Pick A Colour Theme

Although color is great, too many can detract from creating something aesthetically pleasing. We suggest that you stick to two or three main colors that complement each other. Slightly varying shades of these colors are fine, and can be visually appealing! This way, your color scheme and overall color message comes through in the presentation. These are some colour themes you can find on our website

Arranging your Candy

Just like flower arranging, an aesthetically pleasing candy buffet table will have jars and containers at different heights.

You can even have a few tall containers presented as visual displays or centerpieces

We love these centrepieces.

When should I buy my Buffet

We  recommend placing your candy orders with us approximately six weeks prior to your event. By starting early, we can check stock levels and help you find replacement products if needed.

The Meltability Factor

Always keep in mind the meltability factor of the candy you select. Most people consider heat to be the only culprit, but in reality humidity can be just as damaging to candy. Humidity creates very sticky candy and causes gummy candy to lose its shape. And although chocolate is most susceptible to heat and humidity,so are jelly beans and jelly sweets and even certain hard candies and lollipops are as well. This is why we advise you to store your candy in a cool and dry place.

When it comes to container choices for favors the options are endless! Go with some classic paper bags or elegant organza pouches, mini gift boxes or popcorn boxes are very effective. check our webiste
